Y’allsome started in the Los Angeles garage of Craig and Megan when the idea popped into their head to create a lifestyle brand that would celebrate the spirit of their home (“the South”) and at the same time give back to the place they called home. They grew their apparel and homegoods line with southern inspired prints to a point where they could pack up and move back to the comforts of the South in Nashville, TN while realizing the dream of making Y’allsome their full-time focus and giving back 10% of their profits to southern foster kids – truly living their mission: Southern goods that do good. Craig came to me with the desire to update their logo – previously designed with a script font – to have a more hand lettered feel that would reflect their southern style and originality without straying too far from the brand they had built for years.
After developing a series of lettering explorations, I was able to present Craig with a variety of hand lettered scripts that played with customized character alternatives that would give Y’allsome the unique “hand lettered” look they were searching for. We settled on a version that incorporated elements of our exploration as well as refined elements of the original logo to keep it similar enough to not stray from their established brand and refined enough to emphasize the hand lettered character of the word itself. The new logo will live on their website, product labels as well as branded products for sale.
