The Challenge

Hari Mari is a Texas-based premium flip flop company. Founded in 2012, Hari Mari’s roots were born out of a futile search for signs of color & comfort in a sea of black and brown, and decidedly “blah” flip flop, mostly uncomfortable and blister-inducing in feel.

After successfully building their line of premium flip flops, Hari Mari approached me to help them build their branded product line to expand beyond footwear.

The Solution

In working closely with Hari Mari, I was able to design a line of t-shirts that included branded graphics and lifestyle iconography that captured the multifaceted themes that encompass the Hari Mari brand. The designs pay homage to the brand’s Texas roots, adventurous spirit, 80s nostalgia, and the casual lifestyle.

We needed a designer whose approach to design was highly illustrative and able to customize quite complex imagery for a consumer brand with an already established audience. We knew any product we introduced into our line had to be top quality to match the level of the rest of our premium flip-flop line and Tyler delivered hand over fist.

What I love about working with Tyler is he understands apparel and branding and can take ideas and imagery that resonate well with a target audience and finess them into final designs that will translate well into screenprinted products.

The Results Were Impressive

With an overall increase in total sales, Hari Mari has realized a deeper brand loyalty, a richer shopping experience for their online customers, and of course additional revenue increasing their average cart price per checkout. By offering shirts and merchandise, their sales have increased by merchandising their flagship flip flops with supporting “on brand” merchandise as a value add and facilitating purchasing momentum.
